After Jake Mattison‘s gig at a rainy Jubilee Square during Brighton’s Great Escape Festival last Thursday afternoon (10 May), our friends over at Beatwolf Magazine cornered him at The Mash Tun pub across the road for a chat about his influences and inspirations, the Manchester scene and touring with Emeli Sande last year, amongst a few other things.

Jake also performed a powerful, scruff-of-the-neck-grabbing version of his forthcoming debut single “Sorrow”, out on LFC Records in a few weeks, which left those in the room speechless.
